Youth Initiative for Community Empowerment

YICEUganda is a registered not for profit social organisation that provides rural smallhoder farmers in Uganda with access to regenerative agricultural training, flexible financial services and permaculture practices to reduce hunger, and poverty. The organisation officially started her operations in 2012 and registered under the Ugandan Local Government - (Reg. No.CD.233/1039/12). Currently, the organisation works with refugees in Bukompe refugee settlement and the neighbouring host communities, in Mubende district.

Our vision

A world where all rural smallholder farmers and their families thrive in a sustainable way is what we believe in and work for at YICEUganda. We are leaders of innovative and bundled agricultural solutions for smallholder farmers. We support and accompany them on their path to ecological and sustainable farming.

Our Mission

To provide sustainable and actionable agricultural services to rural smallholder farmers that help conserve the environment, improve farm productivity and promote incomes; targeting women, youth and displaced people in Uganda.

Our Values

Our key underlying values are:

  1. Empowering people: We empower communities and women to Champion their own development.
  2. Conserving the biodiversity: We care about animals, plants and micro nutrients in the soil. We practice organic farming to ensure all live-in harmony.
  3. Working with others: We believe we can’t accomplish anything alone. We always share and seek for partnerships and guidance from others.
  4. Scale and sustainable solutions: We seek to build solutions that create everlasting impact on the globe.

Our Programs

At YICEUganda, we implement for innovative and impactful programs in the field of permaculture, water conservation, hygiene, sanitation and HIV/AIDs.
