YICE STORY

Our story

YICE began its operations in 2014 as a community-based organization and is duly registered with the Government of Uganda. Since its inception, the organization has focused on serving vulnerable populations through sustainable and impactful interventions.

As a social organization, YICE provides bundled regenerative agricultural services to last-mile smallholder farmers, with particular emphasis on refugees, women, and youth. Its work is rooted in addressing key challenges faced by these communities, including limited access to resources, climate change impacts, and food insecurity.

The organization’s primary goal is to promote food security and improved nutrition, regenerate biodiversity, support climate change adaptation, and enhance the incomes of smallholder farmers. Through its programs, YICE empowers farmers with knowledge and practical skills that enable them to adopt regenerative farming practices, ultimately leading to healthier diets and more sustainable livelihoods.

Working closely with its supporters, YICE extends its reach to the most underserved communities, building the capacity of vulnerable farmers to not only produce food sustainably but also to generate income for their households. Its beneficiaries include refugees, host communities, and persons with disabilities, ensuring inclusivity in all its interventions.

Currently, YICE operates in Kassanda , Isingiro and Mubende districts, as well as in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, where it continues to make a meaningful impact in improving livelihoods and fostering resilient communities.

Values

Our values define who we are and guide everything we do. They shape our approach to serving communities, influence our decisions, and reflect our commitment to creating lasting impact.

A world where all last mile smallholder farmers and their families thrive in a sustainable way is what we believe in and work for at YICE. We are leaders of innovative and bundled regenerative agricultural solutions for smallholder farmers. We support and accompany them on their path to ecological and sustainable farming.

To provide sustainable and actionable regenerative farming services to rural smallholder farmers that help promote food security and nutrition, conserve the environment, and promote incomes; targeting women, youth and displaced people in Uganda.
